SIR20207 - Certificate II in Retail

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring basic retail operational knowledge and limited practical skills in a defined context. Work would be undertaken in various retail store settings, such as specialty stores, supermarkets, department stores and retail fast food outlets. Individuals may work with some autonomy or in a team but usually under close supervision.

The training package addresses the recognition and training needs of hospitality personnel in a number of broad occupational categories such as: Food and beverage attendant, Housekeeping attendant, Bottle shop attendant, Cook or waiter, Porter, Hotel reception and Hospitality Management.

The Laboratory Operations industry covers a variety of workplaces, job roles and industry sectors. The training package addresses the recognition and training needs of technical/laboratory personnel in five broad occupational categories: Sampler/Testers, Laboratory Assistants, Technical Assistants, Technical Officers and Laboratory Supervisors (senior technical officers, technical specialists).

The Beauty industry employs workers providing services that demand the highest level of skills and knowledge to support the treatments provided. The Beauty industry is made up of small employers, some of whom are self-employed. Beauty industry employees work in businesses such as salons, hotels, health spas, hairdressing salons and retail outlets.
