Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS)

Vocational Education and Training Delivered to Secondary Students (VETDSS) gives secondary school students the opportunity to gain nationally recognised qualifications while completing their Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE). VETDSS programs are designed to help students explore career pathways, develop practical skills and build confidence through industry-focused learning in a supportive training environment.

At VTS, our VETDSS programs are classroom-based and delivered in partnership with schools to support students in Years 10, 11 and 12. Unlike school-based traineeships or apprenticeships, VETDSS does not involve an employer or employment contract. Instead, students participate in structured training designed to build workplace knowledge, communication skills and industry readiness while continuing their regular school studies. Our programs provide students with a practical introduction to the world of work and can create pathways into further training, traineeships, apprenticeships or employment after school.
