Priority Industry Training
Priority Industry Training (PIT) is a program under Jobs and Skills WA. Priority Industry Training provides eligible students with subsided training opportunities and qualifications that upskill students helping them become ready to take up jobs in skilled occupations that are in high demand across Western Australia.
Priority industry qualifications change each year as the Western Australian economy changes. Qualifications that no longer align with the highest priority jobs in the State are called transitional qualifications.
These transitional qualifications will remain on the Priority industry qualifications list for at least one additional year. Transitional qualifications may be reclassified as general industry training and attract a higher fee.
Vocational Training Services is a preferred provider in Western Australia for the state Priority Industry Training courses. VTS offers a number of priority industry qualifications and skill sets to students who are currently employed or underemployed and are seeking training.
These programs are delivered in a blended mode of study, with a significant face-to-face component, to ensure practical skills are developed and translated effectively into a work or job context.
